Kailash Mansarova
Kailash Mansarova
Embark on the journey of a lifetime to the abode of Lord Shiva, Mount Kailash, and the pristine waters of Lake Mansarovar. This sacred pilgrimage, revered by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bonpos, takes you through the stunning and rugged landscapes of the Tibetan Plateau. The Kora (parikrama) around the holy Mount Kailash is a profound spiritual experience believed to cleanse a lifetime of sins. This tour is not just a journey; it is a deep spiritual awakening.
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for rest and preparation.
Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing & Visa Formalities
Morning is dedicated to preparing for the journey. In the afternoon, we will have a tour of Pashupatinath Temple and other sacred sites.
Day 3: Kathmandu to Syabrubesi
The journey begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, a border town on the Nepal side. The road can be bumpy but offers great views.
Day 4: Cross Border & Drive to Kyirong
After immigration and customs formalities at the Nepal-China border (Rasuwagadhi), we will drive to Kyirong town in Tibet. This is a crucial day for acclimatization.
Day 5: Kyirong to Saga
Today, we embark on a scenic drive across the vast Tibetan Plateau to Saga. We will cross several high passes and pass through remote Tibetan villages.
Day 6: Saga to Lake Mansarovar
This is a momentous day as we get our first glimpse of the holy Mount Kailash and the sacred Lake Mansarovar. We will stay overnight at a guesthouse near the lake.
Day 7: Lake Mansarovar & Drive to Darchen
Early morning, we will perform a holy dip (snan) in Lake Mansarovar and a puja (prayers). After a parikrama (circumambulation) of the lake by vehicle, we will drive to Darchen, the base camp for the trek.
Day 8: Darchen to Dirapuk (Kora Day 1)
The first day of the Kora begins. We will trek about 20 km to Dirapuk, from where we get a magnificent North Face view of Mount Kailash.
Day 9: Dirapuk to Zuthulpuk (Kora Day 2)
This is the most challenging day of the Kora. We will cross the highest point, Dolma La Pass (5630m), and visit Gauri Kund. The trek is long (around 22 km) but spiritually rewarding. We’ll descend to Zuthulpuk for our overnight stay.
Day 10: Zuthulpuk to Saga (Kora Day 3)
After a short, final trek of about 8 km, we reach the end of the Kora. From Darchen, we will meet our vehicle and drive back to Saga.
Day 11: Saga to Kyirong
We retrace our journey, driving back from Saga to Kyirong.
Day 12: Kyirong to Kathmandu
After completing the immigration formalities at the border, we’ll drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 13: Free Day in Kathmandu
This day is for rest, souvenir shopping, or exploring the city. A farewell dinner will be arranged in the evening.
